Kucinich: “This is a license to attack Iran. This administration has set a course for aggression against Iran, this is one of the reasons I’ve introduced a resolution of impeachment against the Vice President, because in addition to lying and setting us on a course of war against Iraq based on falsehoods, he’s doing the same thing with respect to Iran.”
….
Schultz: “I don’t get that we haven’t had a diplomatic relationship with these folks for 28 years… yet we are ready to set the table to do some military action against them because they’ve got some hoods that are in Iraq… you know if we weren’t in Iraq, we wouldn’t be getting hit by them”
….
Kucinich: “We really need to get them out of office”
….
Schultz: “How can we do this…with the 76 senators gave them the green light…how can we stop them? Jim Webb is the only one who reads this as a back door method of gaining congressional validation for military action.”
….
Kucinich: “We have a government in place right now that has to be challenged. I’m seriously thinking about calling a privileged resolution on impeachment of the vice president and forcing a vote on the floor of the House.”

  1. Whether to impeach Bush / Cheney

Various considerations weigh in the Peoples’ decision to impeach Bush / Cheney. It is a serious decision, even grave. But impeachment is a process, and we do not have to be certain of their guilt before we proceed. It is certainly our decision to make, and now is the time.

There seems to be a consensus that they prefer to ignore the Constitution they swore to uphold if it impedes their ideology. That consensus should compel us to hold an impeachment trial to test the case against them. Even if they prove unimpeachable after trial, a just acquittal will provide the assurance we did not acquiesce in our subjugation. If that uncertainty is not tested, we will know ourselves and be seen by others, to lack the spine required for self-governance under our Constitution. And worse, its lingering stench will attract even less reputable scoundrels to Office someday.

Impeachment is not to be used as a partisan tool, but the People’s right to try anyone among them who pilfers their liberties is also a duty. If that theft enables an unjust war, we must foil their evil plan, or share in the terrible consequences.

  2. And I don’t think that Kucinich is using Impeachment as a partisan tool. I mean, let’s face it, he’s unpopular within his own party, and little that he has done could be seen as pandering to democrats for a popular vote (although you could make that case with his switch on the abortion issue).

He’s got my vote, so I hope it helps!
